My hometown is Latrobe, Pennsylvania. I began my education by earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. In 1979 I began my teaching career in Portsmouth, Virginia and along the way I completed a Masters in Educational Administration from Old Dominion University and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Virginia Tech.

My administrative career has included Assistant Principal positions at Princess Anne Middle School and Open Campus High School, both located in Virginia Beach. I also served as an Assistant Principal at Woodrow Wilson High School, Portsmouth, VA. In 2005 I was appointed Principal at Churchland Middle School in Portsmouth, VA, and served in that position until I finally arrived here at Beville Middle School in the summer of 2008.

This is my second year as Principal here at Stuart M. Beville Middle School, and I couldn’t be more proud of what we, as a school, have been able to accomplish since I arrived. I am proud to say that we achieved full accreditation from the State of Virginia and met the Federal AYP standards for the 2008-2009 school year! I look forward to even bigger and better things as we continue to be on the PROWL for Excellence.
